The Side Area
At the start of s1, Suzie's work area was located in the middle of the side area, that is the area to the direct right of the doors, coming in. In-between the doors and Suzie's desk was a small space of misc. apparatus that included the Doctor's hand. On the other side of her work area were the stairs up to the balcony.
Gwen took over the space and made it hers.
However, in s2, most of the side area has been cleared, yellow safety paint added to the floor, and a curving padded bench put in. There remains a small table/piece of apparatus right next to the doors.
Capt. John later removes the curving bench in order to torture Jack.
The area close to the balcony stairs now contains what I think could be considered Ianto's work area. It holds the coffee machine and cups, but also a display and various cupboards and contraptions.
A fridge has been added under the wall-mounted first aid box.
